Lyka began with a simple, personal question: if premium pet food was so good, why was Lyka, Anna Podolsky’s dog, still suffering from chronic health issues? What started as home-cooked meals became a movement. Founded in 2018 alongside COO Gabriel Guedes and Integrative Veterinarian Dr. Matthew Muir, Lyka was built on a single conviction: better food can radically transform a pet’s health span and quality of life.
The results speak for themselves. Tens of thousands of customers have reported remarkable improvements better gut health, reduced intolerances, sharper energy, improved mobility, even healthier coats. Lyka’s vet-formulated, gently cooked meals, delivered via flexible subscription, have earned some of the deepest customer love in Australian consumer brands.
Today, Lyka is one of Australia’s fastest-growing consumer companies a vertically integrated, tech-enabled brand operating from two offices (Sydney HQ and Melbourne), with three state-of-the-art food production facilities. The recent close of our $65M Series C marks the beginning of our most ambitious chapter: scaling globally, expanding our product ecosystem, and cementing Lyka as a category-defining, generational brand in pet wellness.
The Opportunity
This is a rare, full-stack technology leadership role. As Lyka’s VP of Technology, you will have complete ownership across Engineering, Data, and IT three functions that together form the entire technology backbone of the business. This isn’t a role focused on one discipline; it’s a mandate to lead, connect, and elevate all of them.We’re looking for a technology leader who wants to build something from good to great defining the architecture, the culture, and the systems that will carry Lyka into its next decade of growth. You will sit at the executive table as a peer to the CEO and COO/CFO, with real influence over company-wide strategy, commercial planning, and the future direction of the business.If you’ve spent your career leading a single technology function and you’re ready to step into a broader remit or you already operate across the full technology spectrum this is the opportunity to do the most meaningful work of your career.

This role has full accountability across four interconnected areas: Engineering, Data, IT, and Technology Strategy.

Technology Strategy
Own Lyka’s technology strategy and roadmap across all functions, tightly aligned with company mission and growth goalsShape a scalable, future-proof architecture with international expansion and new product lines at the forefrontStay ahead of the curve on emerging technologies and translate them into competitive advantage for LykaServe as a key member of the executive team, working closely with the CEO, COO/CFO, and other leaders on company-wide strategy, commercial planning, and culture
Engineering
Hands-on leadership of the Engineering team delivering features at high velocity without sacrificing qualityPartner with Product and Design to build exceptional digital experiences for Lyka’s customersDrive operational digital transformation across fulfilment, customer care, and the supply chain
Data
Champion a data-led decision-making culture across the entire organisationOversee end-to-end data processes capture, transformation, modelling, reporting, standards, and governanceWork closely with the Data leader to ensure every team has access to the insights they need to move faster and smarterDrive data literacy and access at all levels of the business
IT & Security
Oversee onsite IT and OT support across all Sydney and Melbourne sitesStrengthen Lyka’s cybersecurity posture through robust policies, standards, and team trainingEnsure all devices, systems, and tools are safely maintained, up-to-date, and set up for performanceWork closely with the IT leader to ensure seamless support as Lyka continues to scale
Team Leadership & Culture
Build, coach, and inspire best-in-class teams across Engineering, Data, and IT fostering a culture of excellence, ownership, and continuous improvement
Foster transparency, psychological safety, and a high-performance environment where people do their best work
Champion cross-functional collaboration with Product, Design, and Operations
Requirements
What we are looking for:
Proven technology leader with 10+ years of experience, including senior/ executive leadership in high-growth environmentsExpertise across Engineering, Data and IT - with experience managing multidisciplinary teamsStrong data centricity and commercial acumen, able to work with complex and ambiguous data with a strong understanding of business leversComfortable operating strategically and tactically - can zoom out to shape strategy and zoom in to problem-solve with teamsThrives in fast-paced and ambiguous environments, energised by buildingTrack record of hiring, coaching, and retaining high-performing talent in technology teamsPrevious experience working with founders is a plusPassionate about Lyka’s mission to improve the healthspan of pets, with a deep personal connection to our vision of changing the status quo for pet wellnessBenefits
