Job Summary:
The Business & Solution Architect is a senior, enterprise-level role responsible for aligning business strategy with technology execution. This position works across business and technical domains to design and deliver scalable, end-to-end solutions that support organizational transformation and growth.
This role translates complex business needs into actionable architecture designs and roadmaps, guiding implementation across applications, data, and cloud platforms while ensuring security, performance, and long-term sustainability. Partnering closely with stakeholders and delivery teams, the architect influences strategic direction, drives architectural governance, and ensures successful execution of large-scale initiatives.
The ideal candidate combines strong business architecture expertise with deep technical knowledge and operates effectively in complex, cross-functional environments to deliver measurable business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business & Enterprise Architecture
Develop and maintain enterprise business architecture, including:Capability models
Business process frameworks
Align business strategy, operating models, and technology investments
Define and evolve business and technology roadmaps
Analyze organizational needs and identify opportunities for transformation and optimization
Apply structured business architecture methodologies and best practices
2. Solution Architecture & Design
Design end-to-end enterprise solutions across:Cloud platforms
Applications
Data and integration layers
Infrastructure and networking
Translate business requirements into technical architecture and implementation designs
Define:Application components
Interfaces and integration patterns
Platforms and development tools
Lead architecture for distributed systems, APIs, and service-oriented environments
Ensure alignment with security, scalability, performance, and operational requirements
3. Delivery & Execution
Develop and manage architecture roadmaps
Support full lifecycle delivery:Design
Build
Deployment
Optimization
Partner with engineering and delivery teams to ensure successful implementation
Optimize solutions for performance, cost, and scalability
Conduct risk assessments and ensure adherence to quality and governance standards
4. Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership
Communicate architecture vision and solutions to:Business stakeholders
Technical teams
Executive leadership
Act as a trusted advisor across business and technology domains
Drive alignment to target architecture across stakeholders
Mentor and guide architects, engineers, and analysts
Lead cross-functional collaboration in complex environments
5. Architecture Governance & Innovation
Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies
Introduce modern architecture practices and frameworks
Improve architecture processes, tools, and governance
Promote reuse of architecture artifacts as enterprise assets

Experience with architecture frameworks/tools such as TOGAF, Ardoq, or similar
Requirements:
10-15 years of experience in business and solution architecture
Experience across enterprise, application, and information architecture
Proven ability to operate at both:Strategic business level (capabilities, processes, operating models)
Technical solution level (systems, applications, cloud architecture)
Hands-on experience designing and implementing large-scale enterprise solutions
Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), security, and networking
Experience with distributed systems, SOA, APIs, and modern application architectures
Knowledge of AI concepts and interaction patterns, including agentic use cases
Strong understanding of business processes, capability modeling, and transformation
Experience aligning business strategy to technical delivery
Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (financial services preferred)
Strong programming or development background
Functional & Leadership Skills
Ability to translate business strategy into architecture and implementation roadmaps
Experience developing:Business architecture artifacts (capability models, value streams, process flows)
Technical architecture designs (application, data, integration, infrastructure)
Expertise in defining and managing:Functional and non-functional requirements
Target-state enterprise architecture roadmaps
Strong experience with:Cloud platforms and modern architecture patterns
Workflow automation and process optimization
Architecture modeling tools and frameworks
Ability to design end-to-end solutions across all architecture layers
Strong communication skills with ability to convey complex concepts through:Diagrams
Executive presentations
Documentation

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a closely-related discipline, or an equivalent combination of formal education and experience

The typical base pay range for this role is as follows:
New York / New Jersey: $172k – $191k
Non–New York / New Jersey: $143k – $191k
depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation. Our hybrid work schedule is four days on-site and work remotely one day per week.
