Senior Systems Architect - Azure, VMware, SDDC, Infrastructure & Cloud

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Systems Architect to join our consulting practice. In this client-facing role, you will advise enterprise and regulated-industry customers on the modernization and transformation of their cloud, data center, virtualization, and infrastructure platforms.
You will lead architecture engagements spanning Microsoft Azure, hybrid cloud, software-defined data centers, VMware-based private cloud, and on-premises infrastructure, helping clients modernize legacy estates while ensuring resilience, security, governance, and operational continuity.
You will act as a trusted advisor to CIOs, infrastructure leaders, and transformation programs, shaping both strategy and delivery across complex enterprise environments.
Responsibilities
Lead current-state assessments, discovery workshops, and target-state architecture definition
Translate business, security, compliance, and resilience requirements into scalable technical solutions
Facilitate architecture workshops with engineering teams, infrastructure leaders, and executive audiences
Provide architectural governance aligned to enterprise standards and regulatory expectations
Design Microsoft Azure landing zones, governance models, connectivity patterns, and operational guardrails
Architect hybrid cloud solutions integrating Azure with on-premises infrastructure, identity platforms, and security controls
Design SDDC architectures across compute, storage, network virtualization, backup, DR, and management domains
Govern VMware-based private cloud architectures, including vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, NSX, vSAN, HCX, SRM, and Aria/vRealize Suite
Lead modernization and migration initiatives across Azure, VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix, and hybrid environments
Produce high-level and low-level design documentation, architecture decision records, and migration strategies
Provide architectural oversight across deployment, migration, and stabilization phases
Act as senior escalation point for critical platform design and implementation challenges
Support migration planning for workloads moving into Azure, AVS, hybrid cloud, or modernized on-premises environments
Support RFP/RFI/RFQ responses with solution design, architecture inputs, and scope framing
Contribute to effort estimation, proposal development, and delivery planning
Identify follow-on opportunities in cloud adoption, infrastructure modernization, and operational improvement
Requirements
10+ years of experience in cloud, infrastructure architecture, virtualization, SDDC, and consulting
Proven background in enterprise transformation and modernization programs
Expertise in Microsoft Azure, including landing zones, hub-and-spoke networking, governance, identity, security, and resilience
Skills in hybrid cloud architecture integrating Azure with on-premises platforms and enterprise identity
Proficiency in VMware technologies: vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, NSX, vSAN, HCX, SRM, and Aria/vRealize Suite
Knowledge of SDDC, Hyper-V, and Nutanix AHV, as well as hyperconverged infrastructure platforms
Competency in Azure VMware Solution (AVS), workload mobility, and platform transformation
Understanding of enterprise storage, backup, business continuity, and disaster recovery
Background in network, security, identity, and governance for enterprise platform architecture
Showcase of designing solutions for regulated, high-availability, and mission-critical environments within financial services, public sector, or healthcare
Familiarity with infrastructure automation and IaC tools such as Terraform, Bicep, PowerShell, or Ansible
Strategic thinking combined with strong delivery awareness, ownership mindset, consulting maturity, relevant certifications, and willingness to travel to clients
English language proficiency at an Advanced level (C1)
