Senior Mechanical Engineer – Waste Handling Systems Equipment & Packages Engineering

Execution of Waste Handling lots (cost, quality, schedule responsibility) under Equipment & Packages Engineering Manager coordinationCoordination and delivery of Concept and Basic Engineering, including internal/external interface managementPreparation of technical specifications for procurement packages (waste reception, storage, feeding systems, waste cranes, bottom ash cranes, and related equipment)Supplier selection, offer evaluation, and timely placement of purchase ordersSupplier expediting during detailed engineering, including documentation control, inspections, and FATsCross-functional collaboration with procurement, arrangement planning, civil, electrical, and process departmentsInterface clarification across disciplines and plant lotsInstallation/commissioning support, technical troubleshooting during project execution and operation, and knowledge transfer (standardization and lessons learned)
Strong process and product knowledge in Waste Handling systemsDegree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (FH/ETH or technical university)Minimum 7 years of experience in industrial plant engineeringExperience with crane systems (waste cranes, bottom ash cranes, bulk material handling, grab cranes preferred)Background in Energy from Waste, power generation, or heavy industry advantageousExperience in supplier management, procurement of complex systems, and multidisciplinary project teamsExperience in project execution, supplier coordination, and delivery of complex mechanical systems in plant engineeringFluent English; German is an advantage, plus willingness to travel internationally (supplier visits, FATs, site support)
