Senior Manager, Live Technical Operations - APAC

About the Role
This role sits at the intersection of live production, technical operations, and cross-regional collaboration. You will help shape how Netflix Live operates across APAC — balancing global technical standards with local production realities and creative relevance.
You will regularly collaborate with teams across the US and APAC, often navigating fast-moving environments where priorities, ownership structures, and operational approaches are still evolving. Success in this role requires strong judgment, adaptability, communication skills, and the ability to build trust across diverse cultures, teams, and production ecosystems.

You will work across a wide range of live productions — from Korean and Japanese live shows to large-scale global events — helping define how Netflix scales live entertainment across the region.
Responsibilities
Live Production Planning & Operations
Support the end-to-end technical planning and execution of live productions across APAC.
Develop technical guidelines, workflows, and operational documentation for live productions.
Support technical budgeting, feasibility assessments, and production planning.
Technical Leadership & Live Execution
Serve as a hands-on technical operations lead during rehearsals and live broadcasts.
Lead troubleshooting and incident response across transmission, audio, video, and infrastructure during live events.
Evaluate and define transmission and technical workflow solutions based on production scale, venue infrastructure, and operational complexity.
Ensure high broadcast quality standards across HDR, UHD/4K, HD, Dolby Atmos, captions, and live delivery workflows.
Cross-Functional & Regional Collaboration
Coordinate closely with production, engineering, product, content, ads, and external partners across APAC and the US.
Help bridge global operational standards with local market realities and production ecosystems.
Operate effectively in ambiguous environments where workflows and ownership structures may still be evolving.
Vendors, Crew & Scaling
Build and maintain strong relationships with technical vendors, broadcasters, and live production partners across the region.
Support hiring and management of technical crews, freelance technical managers, and production partners.
Help scale Netflix Live operational capabilities across APAC through workflow improvements, operational readiness, and innovation.
Qualifications
10+ years of live broadcast, remote operations, or live technical production experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
Fluency in English and Business level Japanese or Korean is required.
Strong understanding of live production operations, transmission infrastructure, remote production workflows, and on-site technical execution.
Strong troubleshooting instincts and ability to remain calm and decisive during high-pressure live environments.
Familiarity with live transmission technologies, video transport protocols, and OTT/live streaming ecosystems.
Strong cross-cultural communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to navigate differing priorities across regional and global teams.
Comfortable operating in fast-changing and ambiguous environments where influence, judgment, and relationship-building are critical.
Passion for live entertainment and excitement for building new operational capabilities across diverse APAC markets.
Experience with cloud-based workflows and hybrid production environments is a plus.
