Senior Data Strategist (French, Barcelona)

Role
As a Senior Data Strategist, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering high-impact data transformation initiatives for Visium’s clients. You will lead strategic workstreams, act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, and ensure the delivery of robust, actionable strategies grounded in strong data management principles.
You will combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution, leveraging your experience in consulting and data management to drive measurable business outcomes.
Your responsibilities will include:
Define data strategies, platform visions, and transformation roadmaps aligned with business objectives.
Design data governance frameworks, ownership models, and data management practices
Translate business priorities into prioritized portfolios of data & AI use cases with clear business cases
Lead the design of data foundations and modern data platforms (e.g. data products)
Structure analyses and deliver high-quality, insight-driven strategic recommendations.
Lead end-to-end transformation workstreams from discovery to implementation
Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders (CDO, CTO, business leaders)
Identify opportunities to expand engagements and create additional client value.
Contribute to proposals and positioning of Visium’s Data & AI offerings.
Mentor consultants and contribute to practice development and thought leadership.
Requirements
What we are looking for
6+ years of experience in data strategy, data platform/foundation design, data management and consulting experience.
Proven experience leading end-to-end data transformation initiatives (strategy → implementation)
Understanding of modern data architectures (data products, data vault, etc.)
Expertise in data governance, operating models, and data management frameworks
Experience defining and prioritizing data use cases with clear business value
Ability to bridge business and technical teams, ensuring feasibility and impact
Strong stakeholder management experience with senior leadership (CDO, CIO, business heads)
Excellent communication skills with experience engaging senior stakeholders
Entrepreneurial mindset with a drive to shape and grow client engagements
CDMP (DAMA-DMBOK) certification is a strong plus
Fluent in English, French is a plus
