About the Company and Role
We are seeking a Senior C# (.NET) Engineer to join a greenfield brokerage accounting platform project.
This role is focused on building backend systems where reliability, correctness, and operational stability are critical from day one. The engineer joining the team will participate in key technical decisions, review code, help shape engineering standards, and become one of the project's main technical contributors.
Our client is an investment company building its own brokerage accounting ecosystem from the ground up, covering the full operational cycle from client onboarding and transaction processing to integrations with trading platforms and financial infrastructure providers.
Tech Stack: C# 12, .NET 8+, ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework Core, Dapper, PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka/RabbitMQ, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD.
Location: Almaty, Kazakhstan (full-time, office-based).

What kind of qualifications we are looking for:
Technologies
Strong commercial experience with C# 12 and .NET 8+;
Deep understanding of CLR internals: memory management, garbage collection, async/await, multithreading, and performance profiling;
Solid experience with ASP.NET Core (Web API, middleware, dependency injection);
Entity Framework Core and ability to work with native SQL or Dapper when necessary;
Strong PostgreSQL expertise: indexing, transactions, isolation levels, locks, query optimization, EXPLAIN;
Experience with Kafka or RabbitMQ in production environments;
Experience with Redis and caching strategies;
Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
Architecture and Reliability
Experience designing modular monoliths or other maintainable backend architectures;
Understanding of Clean Architecture and clear module boundaries;
Experience designing reliable systems with transactional consistency, idempotency, and the Outbox pattern;
Understanding of resilient integrations using retries, timeouts, and Circuit Breaker patterns;
Understanding of financial systems where precision, auditability, and reconciliation are essential;
Understanding of multi-tenant application architecture.
Integrations
Experience designing REST / gRPC APIs;
Understanding of versioning and idempotent API design principles;
Experience with event-driven integrations and message queues;
Ability to quickly understand external financial protocols and integrations (FIX or ISO 20022).
Observability and Security
Experience with metrics, tracing, and centralized logging tools such as Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, ELK, or Loki;
Understanding of OAuth2/JWT, encryption, OWASP principles, and role-based access models.
Team Lead Responsibilities
Experience conducting code reviews with a focus on architecture and engineering quality;
Experience mentoring middle and junior engineers;
Good testing practices with xUnit/NUnit, Moq, Testcontainers, and integration testing;
Ability to decompose complex technical tasks and explain technical decisions clearly.
Responsibilities:
Design and evolve the backend architecture of a brokerage accounting platform;
Build core backend modules using C# and .NET;
Participate in key technical decisions related to architecture, reliability, and maintainability;
Design modular architecture with clear system boundaries;
Build reliable integrations with external financial systems;
Ensure transactional consistency and optimize PostgreSQL performance;
Review code with a focus on architecture and engineering quality;
Mentor engineers through code reviews and technical guidance;
Work closely with the engineering team on production challenges and continuous platform improvement.
Nice to have Requirements:
Experience with high-load distributed systems;
Experience with Saga and distributed transaction patterns;
Experience in fintech, banking, brokerage, or trading systems;
Experience migrating modular monoliths to microservices.
