QA Automation Engineer (Accounting)

About the role You'll own quality in the Accounting domain — a growing area with no dedicated QA today. You'll cover new functionality and regression, reduce production risks, and build automated test coverage for critical financial flows.
What you'll work on
- End-to-end accounting flows across REST APIs, Kafka, databases, scheduled jobs, and file-based outputs
- Integrations with financial services and internal systems in a microservices environment
- Test automation for critical accounting scenarios using Java or Kotlin
What you'll be responsible for
- Design, maintain, and execute test cases for Accounting services and integrations
- Perform manual and automated testing of critical accounting functionality
- Validate data integrity across APIs, messaging systems, databases, and file-based workflows
- Analyze test results, logs, and database records to identify defects and support investigations
- Work closely with Developers and DevOps to improve test automation tools and environments
- Contribute to test strategy and suggest improvements to QA and automation approach
- Report testing status, risks, and issues with clear visibility into quality for the team
What we need
- 3+ years of experience in QA Automation
- Experience in API testing (manual and automated) using Java or Kotlin
- Background in testing financial platforms - banks, brokers, exchanges, or similar
- Solid understanding of integration testing across APIs, messaging systems, databases, and file workflows
- Good SQL skills and ability to validate data in databases
- Ability to analyze logs, investigate defects, and identify root causes
- Strong communication skills and ability to describe complex issues clearly and precisely
