Job Description:
Technical Project Manager (Dual Role: PM & Pre-Sales, Hotel Industry Focus) Location Shanghai (preferred)
Job Overview This is a dual-functional technical role that dynamically switches between Technical Project Manager and Technical Pre-Sales Consultant based on project cycles. During active project periods, the incumbent takes full ownership of end-to-end hotel tech project delivery as a technical PM. The role also takes care of technical pre-sales responsibilities on demand, including client technical communication, and bid support.
The role focuses deeply on hotel standard systems and hospitality tech ecosystems, requiring proficient expertise in core hotel systems such as PMS, CRM, and their integrated business workflows, to drive standardized, compliant, and customer-centric hotel technology solutions.
Core Job Responsibilities
1. Technical Project Management Role (Project On-Cycle)
- Lead full-lifecycle delivery of hotel technology projects, including requirement analysis, technical solution confirmation, project planning, resource coordination, milestone tracking, risk control, and final acceptance delivery, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget.
- Deeply sort out the business logic and technical architecture of hotel core systems, including Opera Cloud PMS, exclusive guest CRM, Payment, reservation management systems, guest experience platforms, Loyalty, and related auxiliary systems.
- Act as the key liaison among hotel clients, business teams, R&D, testing and implementation teams, sort out system integration demands between PMS, CRM, Payment, Loyalty and other hotel business modules, solve technical and business docking problems during project implementation, and optimize project delivery processes.
- Manage project scope, schedule, quality and risks, regularly output project progress reports, identify potential delivery obstacles in advance, and propose feasible optimization and adjustment schemes to ensure stable project operation.
- Standardize project delivery documents including requirement documents, technical solution documents, test reports and acceptance documents, and precipitate reusable project experience and system configuration specifications for hotel system projects.
2. Technical Pre-Sales Role (part time)
- Provide professional technical pre-sales support for hotel system cooperation projects, including client demand research, technical feasibility analysis, customized solution design, PPT proposal production and technical scheme presentation.
- Responsible for technical communication and negotiation with hotel clients, answer clients' professional questions about PMS, CRM, Payment, Loyalty system functions, system integration, data docking and industry technical trends, and build client technical trust.
- Participate in bidding work, complete technical bid document writing, solution demonstration, on-site technical defense and bid follow-up, improve the winning rate of hotel technology projects.
- Track the iteration rules and industry standards of global hotel systems, sort out the competitive advantages and technical differences of the company's solutions, and continuously optimize pre-sales solution templates and industry case libraries for hotel scenarios.
- Collaborate with Delivery Manager and the sales team to explore new business opportunities in the hotel system ecosystem, provide technical support for business expansion, and assist in developing long-term cooperative hotel clients.
3. Cross-Functional & Systematic Work
- Continuously study and track the upgrade iteration, functional optimization and access specifications of PMS, CRM, Payment, Loyalty and other core hotel systems, maintain professional sensitivity to hotel digital operation and guest service system scenarios.
- Sort out the data interaction logic and business closed loop between hotel core systems (PMS room management/reservation/settlement, CRM guest portrait/membership operation/preference management, Payment, Loyalty), and support product iteration and solution upgrading.
- Precipitate industry best practices for hotel system implementation and pre-sales services, assist the team to form standardized service processes and capability outputs.
Job Requirements
1. Professional Experience
- 3+ years of working experience in hotel technology industry, with dual experience in technical project management and technical pre-sales; hotel system project delivery or service experience is highly preferred.
- In-depth understanding of the business processes and technical logic of international high-star hotel systems, familiar with PMS (Opera Cloud/Shiji), CRM membership system, Payment, Loyalty, reservation system and guest experience management platform.
2. Core Competencies
- Proficient in hotel core system capabilities: master PMS front desk operation, room status management, order settlement, channel reservation and other core modules; familiar with CRM guest profile management, membership hierarchy, preference labeling, personalized service marketing and other functions. - Capable of independent end-to-end project delivery and independent pre-sales solution output, with strong demand sorting, technical interpretation, client communication and problem-solving capabilities. - Familiar with system integration, API docking, data synchronization and other technical logic between hotel systems, able to independently complete technical solution design for complex business scenarios. - Familiar with project management methodologies, able to control project progress, risks and quality efficiently, with standardized document output capabilities. - Microservices: Extensive hands-on experience in building distributed applications using Microservices architecture, including API design and gateway integration. - System Design: Solid system-design and tech-stack evaluation skills, with the ability to build scalable product services. - Messaging: Familiarity with message queues and event-driven architecture (e.g., Kafka or similar). - Version Control: Expert knowledge of Git & mainstream branch models (GitFlow, Trunk-Based). - Communication: Strong cross-team communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical ideas and facilitate knowledge-sharing. - hotel property networks (PMS) and Marriott Digital channels (wechat, web, Mobile)
3. Soft Skills & Literacy - Excellent logical thinking, cross-team coordination and pressure resistance, able to flexibly switch between project delivery and pre-sales business modes according to work arrangements. - Good expression and presentation skills, able to clearly and professionally display technical solutions and project values to hotel clients. - Strong industry learning ability, able to quickly track system iteration and hotel digital industry trends. - Strict work attitude, good team awareness and service awareness, with long-term growth willingness in hotel technology track.
4. Education & Certificates - Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Information Management, Hospitality Management or related majors. - PMP, Agile Project Management or related technical pre-sales certificates are preferred.
5. Preferred Qualifications
- Has direct project experience in hotel system implementation, upgrade, integration or pre-sales cooperation.
- Familiar with Opera Cloud/Shiji PMS and official system access specifications and business standards.
- Has rich experience in serving international high-star hotel groups, with mature hotel industry solution case accumulation.
- Basic English listening, speaking, reading and writing skills to support international hotel business communication.
- Architecture & Design: Proven experience in Domain-Driven Design (DDD) & Clean Architecture delivery.
- Data Management: Deep experience with Relational databases and NoSQL databases.
- Experience in building platforms and solutions for the WeChat Ecosystem.
- Proven knowledge of Agile methodology; preferably SAFe Agile.
- Experience with Automation, CI/CD, Release Management processes, and Application Deployments.
- China Digital Ecosystem Expertise – experience with China''s MarTech landscape including local CDPs, DMPs, and WeChat, Alipay, Douyin, and Little Red Book integration. Knowledges on the compliance with Cross Border Data Transfer, Cybersecurity.
