Mobile Software Engineer - TikTok Intelligent Creation - Singapore

About Video Creation Team:
Our team's mission is to empower TikTok users to turn creativity into reality via videos. We build the core video creation product to support tens of millions of TikTok creators every day. All the viral props and effects you find on TikTok are developed by us, via close collaboration with TikTok AR effects and multimedia teams. Our goal is to build the world's best video creation software. On this team, you will be working with our XFN partners to define a world-class video creation experience, designing the architecture of TikTok video creation tools and pipelines, and shipping cutting-edge features to take TikTok to the next level.
Responsibilities:
1. Design, develop, and ship video creation features across Android and iOS, using shared implementations and platform-native capabilities where appropriate.
2. Own features through technical design, implementation, testing, rollout, and iteration, collaborating closely with product, design, backend, and multimedia teams.
3. Build and evolve cross-platform architectures, shared components, and native integrations to improve development efficiency while maintaining a high-quality user experience.
4. Diagnose and resolve complex issues in large production codebases, improving application performance, stability, and maintainability.
5. Contribute to end-to-end solutions beyond mobile, with opportunities to develop supporting backend services, APIs based on project needs and your expertise.
6. Apply AI-assisted development tools with sound engineering judgment, and maintain quality through code reviews, automated testing, and production monitoring.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications
1. BS/MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent majors in related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
2. Professional experience developing and shipping native mobile applications on Android or iOS, with proficiency in at least one of Kotlin, Java, Swift, or Objective-C.
3. Strong understanding of mobile application architecture, UI development, concurrency, networking, and performance optimization.
4. Solid computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and software design, with the ability to understand and debug large, complex codebases.
5. Ability to independently deliver features and make practical technical trade-offs, with effective communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
6. Willingness and ability to work across mobile platforms and learn technologies beyond your primary stack. Prior experience developing for both Android and iOS is not required.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Three or more years of relevant software engineering experience, preferably building consumer-facing applications at scale.
2. Experience with cross-platform technologies such as Kotlin Multiplatform or Compose Multiplatform, or with designing shared modules and native platform integrations.
3. Experience with backend services, API design, or web development, and an interest in taking broader end-to-end ownership.
4. Experience with video editing, audio/video processing, graphics, creative tools, or AI-powered product features.
5. Practical experience using AI coding tools to improve development workflows while validating correctness, maintainability, and security.
