Nitka Technologies develops software for customers in the US and Europe and brings together about 300 professionals from Eastern Europe, North and South America, Armenia, Georgia and Kazakhstan.
We are looking for an experienced Lead SRE / SRE Architect to drive SRE adoption for a new reliability-focused project. This role combines hands-on engineering, production operations experience, and the ability to work directly with client engineering and leadership teams. The customer is a U.S. bank holding company that provides a range of financial services, including: retail banking, commercial banking, wealth management and trust services.
Responsibilities
Lead SRE rollout for one or more product/platform teams.
Define the reliability model together with engineering and business stakeholders.
Help identify critical services, user journeys, SLIs, SLOs, and error-budget approach.
Design incident response, on-call model, escalation paths, runbooks, and postmortem process.
Improve observability, alert quality, and operational dashboards.
Guide production-readiness checks for important releases and changes.
Support automation and self-healing initiatives for repeated incidents.
Create a repeatable SRE rollout playbook for future teams.
Mentor SRE, DevOps and Software Engineers.
Requirements:
Experience building SRE practices from scratch.
Strong hands-on SRE engineering experience.
Good understanding of SLI, SLO, error budget, burn rate, and SLO-based alerting.
Experience with incident management, on-call, escalation, postmortems, and runbooks.
Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, Datadog, or similar.
Understanding of OpenTelemetry and distributed tracing concepts.
Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Azure.
Experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines.
Strong troubleshooting skills across application, infrastructure, and platform layers.
Ability to communicate clearly with technical teams and client stakeholders.
Strong spoken and written English skills (Intermediate level and more).
