We are seeking a talented **Lead / Senior Engineer** to join our engineering team. This is a key role responsible for delivering complex technical programmes, acting as the engineering focal point within multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring successful project outcomes.
Depending on experience, you will either lead a small team of engineers while maintaining strong technical involvement (Lead Engineer) or operate as a highly skilled specialist providing deep technical expertise (Senior Engineer).
Key Responsibilities
Act as the primary technical focal point for engineering programmes, including direct customer engagement
Lead and contribute to engineering design, analysis, and development activities
Plan, schedule, and deliver engineering work in line with cost, quality, and time constraints
Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineers and technicians
Review and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring robust engineering solutions
Oversee preparation of engineering documentation including drawings, reports, and specifications
Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes and practices
Support new product development activities from concept through to introduction
Liaise with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, and commercial functions
Contribute to team development, including mentoring, performance management, and training (Lead level)
Support compliance with aerospace standards, certification, and regulatory requirements
Represent Moog professionally, balancing technical integrity with commercial considerations
Desirable Skills and Experience
Experience in a senior or lead engineering role within aerospace or another highly regulated industry
Strong technical expertise in a relevant discipline such as mechanical, hydraulic systems, actuation, stress, or design
Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex engineering programmes
Experience acting as a technical authority with customer-facing responsibilities
Strong understanding of new product development lifecycles, from concept to certification and production
Demonstrated ability to deliver engineering projects within budget and schedule constraints
Excellent problem-solving skills with experience resolving complex technical challenges
Knowledge of aerospace regulations, airworthiness requirements, and certification processes
Experience with engineering documentation, including technical reports, specifications, and drawings
Familiarity with MRB and Engineering Order processes (desirable)
Experience in coaching, mentoring, and developing engineering teams
Strong communication skills, capable of engaging both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, manufacturing, and commercial functions
Commercial awareness with the ability to balance business needs and engineering integrity
Continuous improvement mindset with experience enhancing engineering processes
Degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience
