Andersen is seeking a Lead Backend Engineer (Microsoft Stack) for a project building a Teams-based contact center on Azure, ensuring scalable, reliable, and high-performance real-time communication solutions.
The customer is an international technology consulting company focused on delivering cloud-based and digital solutions that support business transformation and operational efficiency. The organization works with modern platforms and tools to help clients improve collaboration, optimize processes, and build flexible, secure IT environments, while also contributing to solution development and continuous improvement initiatives.
The project is focused on a Microsoft Teams-based contact center solution that enables real-time call handling and management. It operates on a distributed, event-driven Azure architecture and is currently in a scaling phase, with a strong emphasis on performance, reliability, and multi-tenant capabilities.
Responsibilities
Performing hands-on development within a senior/lead engineer role.
Working with Microsoft Teams Calling (Graph API, Calling SDK, Azure Bot).
Designing and improving scalable, distributed solutions.
Ensuring stability and performance of real-time call handling.
Contributing to architecture decisions and system improvements.
Collaborating closely with an in-house team.
Requirements
Experience in development for 5+ years.
Experience with Microsoft Teams Calling (Graph API, Calling SDK, Azure Bot) for 3+ years.
Experience with real-time systems and call handling.
Strong experience with Azure (Bot Framework, Cosmos DB, event-driven architecture, caching).
Solid understanding of distributed systems and scalability.
Experience with asynchronous / event-driven systems.
Strong backend development skills (hands-on).
Level of English – from Upper-Intermediate and above.
Nice to have
Experience with automated testing (e.g., Playwright).
Exposure to AI-driven development/testing.
Experience with SaaS / billing platforms.
Familiarity with Microsoft AppSource.
Knowledge of German.
