Versant Media’s Data Platforms team is the central hub for metadata and core data services across O&T. We unify disparate systems into a secure, well-governed,
real-time data environment that powers downstream products, analytics, and content delivery experiences.
We are seeking a Manager, Data Products & Solutions to lead the development and delivery of internal and consumer-facing data solutions built on top of our platform. This role is responsible for translating platform capabilities into usable, trusted data products while managing a small team of engineers.
This is a hands-on manager role focused on execution, stakeholder alignment, and enabling scalable, self-service access to governed data. The role will partner closely with Platform Development and Data Governance & Observability to ensure solutions are consistent, reliable, and aligned with platform standards.
Responsibilities
Lead development of data products, datasets, and foundational dashboards that support internal teams and downstream consumers
Partner with Platform Development and Data Governance to ensure:Data contracts are correctly implemented and consumed
Data is reliable, well-modeled, and observable
Own intake and prioritization for data solutions and partner requests, balancing immediate needs with long-term scalability
Build and maintain base reporting layers and dashboards that can be extended by business teams
Enable self-service analytics by establishing reusable datasets, models, and access patterns
Manage and mentor a small team of engineers (data engineers, analytics engineers, or similar roles)
Ensure solutions align with platform standards for:Governance and data contracts
Observability and reliability
Performance and scalability
Collaborate with stakeholders across product, analytics, and business teams to translate requirements into scalable data solutions
5+ Experience building data products, datasets, or analytics solutions in an enterprise environment
Strong proficiency in SQL and experience using Python for data transformation, modeling, or analysis
Familiarity with modern data and platform tooling, including Node.js/TypeScript-based services and platforms such as Databricks
Strong understanding of:Data modeling and transformation patterns
BI and dashboarding tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, or similar)
Experience managing or mentoring engineers
Ability to balance custom solutions vs reusable platform capabilities
Strong collaboration and communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders
Comfortable operating in a lean, fast-moving environment with a high degree of ownership
Nice to Have
Experience enabling self-service analytics at scale
Familiarity with data contracts, governance, and lineage concepts
Experience working in media, streaming, or large-scale enterprise environments
Exposure to modern data architectures (lakehouse, ELT pipelines, etc.)
