Data Engineer (Junior–Middle)

We are Data Never Lies, a UK-based team that believes in the power of facts over guesswork. We help companies turn raw data into real insights by building reliable, scalable data systems.
We are currently looking for a Junior/Middle Data Engineer with strong experience in Python, SQL, and data pipelines.
What you will do
Build and maintain data pipelines (APIs, databases, files, third-party platforms)
Extract, transform, and load data into data warehouses for analytics & BI
Work with REST APIs (auth, pagination, retries, rate limits, error handling)
Ensure pipeline stability: logging, monitoring, retries, data quality checks
Handle incremental loads and semi-structured data (JSON, etc.)
Required skills
Strong Python experience in data engineering tasks
Solid SQL (JOINs, CTEs, aggregates, window functions)
Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines
Working with REST APIs and various data sources
Understanding of fault-tolerant systems
Git experience
Experience with data warehouses (PostgreSQL, BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, etc.)
Basic monitoring/logging practices
Nice to have
dbt, Airflow / Prefect / Dagster
Spark / PySpark
Cloud storage (AWS S3, GCS, Azure Blob)
Docker
Data quality checks and dimensional modeling
