PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
To lead the team in Northern Cape. To support the Regional Manager to achieve business objectives and ensure compliance to the company policies and business guidelines.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage the petty cash usage at the site
Provide revenue updates monthly
To plan, organize and control Operations.
To support the field auditors, inspectors and HSE & quality coordinator
Manage and monitor the operational performance of all operations activities.
Control the implementation and maintenance of technical and operational procedures.
Control the implementation and maintenance of the Quality Control and Safety systems.
Ensure that adequate and appropriate manpower resources, equipment and tools are available for total operational efficiency.
Ensure liaison and technical support to all present and potential clients.
Assist the Regional Manager with complaints and claim resolution.
Assist the Regional Manager with technical and sales support as well as proposal co-ordination.
Adhere to all quality and safety requirements of the SGS management system and country legislation and laws. Perform any other reasonable tasks as assigned by direct manager.
Efficient planning and organisation of staff within safe operating conditions. This entails minimisation of overtime on site
Apply Check status process and use the stop work Authority wherever the control of risks is not clearly established and understood.
Participate and form part of Operational Integrity projects and campaigns.
Be compliant to all SGS QHSE and HR policies and procedures.
At all times, comply with SGS Code of Integrity and Professional Conduct.
The basis upon which the opinion and interpretation is to be made shall be recorded. Opinions and interpretations shall only be made by designated (authorized) staff
Specific Authorities
Cease the use of any equipment that may be deemed to constitute a safety hazard or entry to hazardous environments without the necessary knowledge and protection, and take action to address the hazard.
Cease to carry on with work that may affect the quality (integrity) of services and take action to address the issue.
Initiate a formal improvement request when a deviation of the system occurs, possible improvements are identified or when nonconformity is identified.

Sampling of Lumpy ore and ferroalloy manually
Teaching the Sampler 1 Unit Goods
Teaching the Sampler 2 Bulk Solids
Teaching the Sampler 4 - bulk solids appendix
Teaching the Sampler 5 - statistics
Teaching the sampler 3 prep
SHE Knowledge
VLC SANAS ISO17025 Course.
Experience
5 years of management experience.
Scheduling of staff
Safety and quality experience
Sample preparation and, preparation experience.
Competencies
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Languages: Proficiency in English (Read, Speak, Write)
Calculation capability
Ability to problem solve
Delivering results and meeting divisions expectations

COMPLIANCE & AUTHORITY
Compliant with all SGS QOH&S and HR policies and procedures
Granted sufficient authority to achieve the given responsibilities as per relevant SGS Authority policies
Responsible for the daily safety and health of employees on behalf of SGS upper management and for raising issues with SGS upper management where required
Keep up to date on SGS inspection policies and procedures. Apply the necessary policy to all inspections to avoid misunderstandings during inspections
Adhere to all QHSE requirements of the SGS management systems.
